So I’m pretty sure I haven’t mentioned this on my blog, but I transferred to the Geek Squad Data Recovery Division a few weeks ago. It is such a different environment from working on the repair lines, and a very different mentality. I’m learning a lot, and I enjoy it quite a bit… I really feel like customer’s value what we do. It’s a little more emotional sometimes, as sometimes people don’t understand that data recovery is not a free service, but over all people are grateful for the service.
I’m attempting to drink some hot cocoa due to the cold weather outside. I forgot how much of a pain it is. It’s either too hot, scalding yor tongue, or it’s too cold and grainy. Ahh if only this was the extent of my life’s difficulties.
Here’s a song off of the new Foo Fighter’s album, written for a couple of miners that when trapped in a cave-in were asked what they wanted to tide them over until they could be rescued. Their answer? An iPod loaded with Foo Fighters songs. So Dave Grohl wrote them this song, and sent them tickets to his show, and dedicated it to them. That’s such a cool gesture, very heartfelt. So enjoy the songs, and think of those guys rocking out to Foo Fighter’s while being trapped miles underground.

I first heard this song in Florida, when I went to see Basquiat in the theaters with my brother. It’s probably one of my more favorite movies. Jeff Buckley does a phenomenal cover of this song, very touching.
I’ve also got some Neutral Milk Hotel, who if you haven’t heard them are quite relaxing. This particular song has a very pretty theramin in the background, and some great vocals. Unfortunately they are on hiatus and haven’t released any new material recently.
As well as a general re-jig of the rules, they’ve got something the D&D Insider. It’s a whole mass of online content that runs alongside of the real world books - digital copies of your books, the venerable Dungeon and Dragon moving from print to Online and so on. Most relevantly, a load of integrated tools to make D&D running easier. Character generators and similar. But, most rrelevantly, a virtual tabletop which you can push your figures around, run your dungeons (Or sophisticated castle diplomacy-rooms if you’re one of those people who actually role-play), SimPolyhedral Die, fully integrated voice-chat and generally everything you need to play the bloody game.
