ACTA Now, before it’s too late.

ACTA – the lesser known, but more extensive cousin of PIPA and SOPA. It’s not over yet folks.

Posting

So, nothing like a little security breach on Dreamhost to dust off the old blog. Plugins and themes updated, malware removed. Heck I even went back and removed some posts from 2007 from a misbehaving autopost script. About 1,600 of them.

The topic of conversation on everyone’s lips has been SOPA and PIPA. It’s great that there’s been a huge surge of solidarity from the internet community en masse about it. I find it strangely disturbing that there was no such action for NDAA or the many other laws put in place that limit our rights. It is what it is though, I guess. Can’t take away people’s tubez. It keeps them happy. Don’t mind the military drones being deployed on native soil, controlled by a joint effort between the military and local law enforcement.

It’s frustrating, I wish more people would pay attention. Perhaps it’s just all too far gone at this point?

At any rate, I’ve been doing fairly well (to all the people that read this blog, aka no one). Work has it’s ups and downs, just like it does for everyone. I do get to jump around to different challenges though. This week I’ve worked on our internal digital signage/metrics display, did some web design, worked on a project to reduce internal productivity waste… all sorts of things. So that’s nice, I get to stretch my mind in a lot of different ways. The politics wear on me though, it’s frustrating, and challenging in all the wrong ways. It’s what everyone goes through though. Everyone has a different idea of what’s right.
