Twelpforce getting notice…

It’s nice to see the both the positive and constructive comments about the new social initiative from Best Buy, Twelpforce. There are definitely some kinks to work out in the system, but it offers an entirely new way for Best Buy to offer customers support and to help them find the best solutions for their technology questions. It offers an amazing amount of new transparency to BBY that we never had before. It’s important for companies as a whole to embrace social networks as it’s the next evolution to word of mouth type business. I’m curious about the various customer experiences with it so far, has it been beneficial to you? How do you think it could be improved?

I think I’ve found my dream job. I work on creative, new things every day. I like the people I work with. I love going into work every day.

Guess I really lucked out this time. No business owners trying to stab each other. No random, crazy small business own hoopla. There are definite bonuses for working for Best Buy.

Listening to thesixtyone, and reading Quartz Composer development blogs. All is quiet.

Yeah changed my mind.

So in case you hadn’t figured it out by now I’ve changed my mind about running the Louisville Independent Music Archive. After thinking about the discussion over on Louisville Hardcore, the effort it’s going to require… it just frankly isn’t worth it. Sorry to those interested in it, I would suggest collaborating with the other interested parties. I’d be more than happy to lend some technical or operational advice to anyone creating their own though, I’m just done with thankless jobs, especially from a thankless music scene.

LIMA or Louisville Independent Music Archive will be up soon. Thanks to Doug Walker for the name suggestion.

I have decided to drop the idea of using Bit Torrent for the file distribution. It would have been problematic at best, especially considering the bad press around it. I guess I’ll have to take advantage of my unlimited bandwith plan

To submit any music I’ll need a minimum of an email from the copyright holder(s). I will obey any legal requests for a take down of a posting immediately. I cannot and will not accept a burned cd-r from someone that says they have permission from the original artist unless it is extreme circumstances. I will also include any online (or offline) links or instructions to procure merchandise for the posted artist(s).

I’ve got this respiratory funk I’ve been fighting off the past few days. Fevers, aches and pains, congestion. All hallmarks of a fun time.

Had a good Easter yesterday. It was a nice day to relax and not have to worry about anything. I actually didn’t think about work… most of the time. Overall it was a pretty uneventful weekend. Paid some bills, played some Marvel Ultimate Alliance with Ashley for 6 hours… and then realized it doesn’t have an autosave function when my Xbox locked up. Who doesn’t put autosave in a game? I thought that was like…. a standard option. Meh.

I’m going to be opening up a legal music torrent site here within the next week or so. I’ve had to figure out a few technical hurdles first. So if you’re coming here from the post at Louisvillehardcore.com check back here in about a week. Or so…

Tax Return

I’m looking forward to spending my tax return more. I worked on a newish computer for Ashley, which she is much happier with. which of course makes me happier in turn. I need to build a new router for the house as we’re going to upgrade our cable service. I wonder if Insight is planning on rolling out DOCSIS 3.0 soon…ish. Charter Communications just announced their new 60 meg service.

Still working on this data display for the City. I need to check if I’m allowed to post screenshots or anything online. I don’t see why not, no sensitive information in it. At least right now.

Blech. Will I ever?

I’m supposed to update it with Precinct openings, Canada, and international openings. Le sigh. I’m bored with it.
